After this course, you will be able to demonstrate acceptance of and concern for residents who have long-term or disabling illnesses. You will also be able to demonstrate an ability to promote the independence of residents within the limitations of their physical, mental, and intellectual impairments, as well as foster self-help skills through appropriate responses to resident attempts to provide self care, including recognizing a resident’s level of ability in self care activities.
